A Note From Katie– About Me
To tell you a little bit about me, in 2018 I began my career as an elementary educator. My passion for helping my students learn was strong and my excitement was unmatched. Only 2 years after I started teaching, Covid hit. We dealt with the challenges of virtual learning and teaching in a non-traditional way for a couple years. Although things returned to normal after those couple years, I began to feel the teacher burn out.
In May of 2022, I became a mom to my sweet daughter. I had such a difficult time returning back to work after maternity leave. My passion started to change and my heart felt that I needed to be with my baby all the time and I had a difficult time giving my all to my students. Despite feeling pulled in different directions, I knew that I needed to keep teaching. This was my career.
I continued to teach for 2 more years, but felt mentally and physically exhausted and unhappy. It made me feel guilty that I had little patience when I got home and didn’t feel present with my family. I am now expecting my second child and have finally decided to take a leap of faith and make the decision to stay home and raise my babies. There are still so many fears and what ifs about this decision, but if there is one thing I know it’s that I will never get this time back. In my heart I know this is the best decision for me and my family.
About my Family Life
Besides being a former teacher and a mom, I am a wife to my amazing husband, Kyle. We have been married since 2018. We have a golden retriever, we love to travel, run, bike, fish, go camping and do anything involving outdoors. I love tacos, going to coffee shops and I probably visit Target at least once a week. Family time is so precious to us and we try to do as much as we can with our daughter.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you! Whether you’re a mom, a wife, a teacher or a friend- I hope we can relate to one another somehow. Thank you for supporting me on my blogging journey.
Sincerely,
Katie
