Time. Something that is so very precious. I never realized how precious it was until I became a mom. Others will tell you how fast time goes and it’s something you just nod your head and agree with but never truly understand. The reality is that it’s true.

Time flies when you are watching what you created grow. It’s something that is so bittersweet and often taken for granted. Sometimes we get stuck in the every day frustrations of motherhood and wish we could hurry through certain phases. If you’re anything like me, you are going to wish you could get those moments back once they are over. It feels like you have all of the time in the world, until you don’t. You can’t get the moments back, the first steps, the first words, the first everything.

How often does a memory pop up from only a year ago and it makes your heart sad with how much your child has changed in what seems like such a short amount of time? I know this feeling all too well. It’s probably cliche to say, but it’s true that day to day it feels like nothing changes but looking back so much has changed. Don’t you wish you could just pause time and keep them this little forever? Me, too.

As I’ve grown into my role as a mom, I now cherish time more than anything. Whether you are a stay at home mom or a working mom who gets a few hours a day with your babies, cherish every second. Both the good days and the tough days because one day you’ll look back and realize these were actually the good days.

It’s crazy that something that seems so simple can bring you so much happiness but also so much heartbreak. We all know that babies don’t keep and we can’t get this time back. Since we don’t have the power to slow time down, let’s just cherish it.
